COVID-19 Safety Plan
We know that our Clubs are pillars in the Philadelphia community. We also know that reopening was not only important to our kids, but also to the families and our employees.
We want our entire network to know that we are doing everything we can to ensure a safe experience for each participant during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are closely following any and all updates from the CDC. Here are some of the elements of our safety plan:
All employees, volunteers, participants, and families have learned preventative and mitigation strategies (e.g., social distancing, cloth face coverings, hand hygiene, and cohorting) and are putting them into practice. We continue to communicate, educate, and reinforce all of these strategies.
We are taking temperatures at the entrance doors of our Clubs and teaching families about home-based symptom screening.
We keep our Clubs clean and healthy environments (e.g., cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces).
We make decisions that take into account the level of community transmission.
We have repurposed unused or underutilized spaces to increase classroom space and facilitate social distancing, including outside spaces, where feasible.
We have a proactive plan for when a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19. This includes an open channel of communication with state and local health departments to stay updated on COVID-19 transmission and response in our area. Our plan also stresses the importance of communicating appropriately to families about any positive tests.
