Marconi Older Adult Program

Marconi Older Adult Program

For adults age 50+, our Marconi Older Adult Program, housed within the South Philadelphia Boys & Girls Club, is known as a community hang-out.  Far from the stereotypical senior center, Marconi offers meals and wide-ranging educational, social and recreational activities. Members take part in dance, art, theater, games, discussions and more.

The program has 250 active members; however, 700 individuals are served annually through information and resource assistance.

The Marconi Older Adult Program is offered in partnership by Caring People Alliance and Philadelphia Corporation for Aging.

In 2018, the Asian American Outreach Program was established with support from the Methodist Hospital Foundation.  Through this, the Lotus Program was created.  The Lotus Program offers older adults who speak Khmer, Cantonese, and Mandarin case management, English courses, traditional dance activities, and cooking classes.  Additionally, the Lotus Program provides all members of the Marconi Older Adult Program the opportunity to learn about Asian Cultures.
