This grant is intended for eligible low-income, single-parent families residing in the City of Philadelphia.

Children included in the application must be between ages 5–18 as of September 1, 2026.

This is a one-time grant per family. If your family has previously received a Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation Single Parent Families Grant, you are not eligible to receive another award.

The grant provides up to $1,000 total per family to help a child access a specific out-of-school enrichment, educational, developmental, or wellness opportunity that may otherwise be difficult for the family to afford.

Examples may include:

• After-school or enrichment programs

• Tutoring

• Camps

• Sports or athletic programs

• Swim lessons

• Dance, music, or art programs

• Martial arts

• Youth wellness or mental health programs

• Other clearly identified enrichment opportunities

Applicants must identify a specific program or provider and explain how the opportunity will benefit their child.

Grant funds cannot be used for:

• Rent, utilities, or household bills

• Groceries or general family expenses

• School tuition

• General daycare or childcare expenses

• General clothing, supplies, electronics, or household purchases

• Reimbursement for expenses already paid

• Cash or payments directly to the parent or child

If your primary request is for one of these expenses, it does not fall within the scope of this grant.

Grant funds are never paid directly to the parent or child.

If selected, the program will pay one approved program or provider directly. Funds cannot be divided among multiple providers.

Yes. Please submit one application for your family and include each child for whom you are requesting grant support. The application allows you to include up to four children.

The maximum grant award remains $1,000 total per family, regardless of the number of children included

After the application closes on September 8, 2026, applications will enter the review and verification process. This process will take a minimum of 30 days.
