Volunteer Qualifications:

Enjoy relating to individuals from diverse backgrounds and be comfortable with close supervision.

Be timely, consistent and reliable.

Volunteer Requirements:

Acquire criminal record (https://epatch.state.pa.us) and child abuse clearances (individuals age 18 and over). We reimburse the modest cost for the processing of these forms when the volunteer begins work at Caring People Alliance.

Complete and return a volunteer application form.

Fill out and return (with doctor’s signature) a "Health Assessment" form and signed "Code of Conduct" and "Information Release" forms.

Commit at least one hour per week to their volunteer project. Caring People Alliance seeks volunteers who can provide their service on a regular, consistent basis. In this way, necessary and valuable relationships can be formed among our volunteers, staff and center members.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Available at one, two or all three of our community centers: R.W. Brown Community Center, 1701 North 8th St. (at Cecil B. Moore Avenue, near Temple University); Fels South Philadelphia Community Center, 2407 South Broad Street; West Philadelphia Community Center, 3512 Haverford Avenue (north of Drexel University).

Offered on weekday mornings and afternoons (centers are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.) Note: limited opportunities may be available on the weekends.
