Caring People Alliance is continuing to serve families in South Philadelphia at our new service location at 2433 South 15th Street (NE Corner of 15th and Porter Streets). The new location offers our full range of Boys & Girls Clubs activities for school age-youth and our Marconi Older Adult Program for people aged 55 years and older.
Boys & Girls Clubs
The South Philadelphia charter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) provides after-school and full-day summer programming for school-aged children, ages 6 to 17. Activities include tutoring; "Power Hour" homework help; "Project Learn" high-yield learning activities; arts and cultural activities such as drawing, painting, music and dance; athletic and recreational activities, volleyball and kickball; computer activities including computer use, Microsoft programs, internet safety, digital arts and music editing; life skills including the Boys & Girls Clubs of America SMART Moves® program; and special programming developed around holiday themes, current events and youth performances.
Activities are supplemented with occasional educational and recreational trips throughout the region. All youth receive a healthy after-school snack during the school year and a healthy breakfast, snack and lunch during the full-day summer programming.
